I think you should read some other articles about that. The way the WaPo portrayed the feelings of her advocate friend Emily Renda (who was the one who WaPo quoted as saying she was "misled") are VERY different than what Emily herself wrote for the school's own paper, the Cavalier Daily.

The hostility and inability to actually explain her position was quite telling. Like, why couldn't she explain why victims often don't want to see their attackers punished?

No, this is not true. I know people who she has "helped". She is definitely not the only bad guy, but she's been exploiting traumatized victims behind the scenes for a long time. She is really good at being the first person a survivor talks to, but gets really difficult when they want to pursue something.
