Joseph Smith. I win.

LITERARY BURN

I live near UVA. Of course this is the same story as it was a few years ago. It's the same story with them EVERY year, for decades. They have a HUGE rape problem (worse than many other campuses) and they do nothing but lie, cover up, and harass victims.

As someone who has been in that position, I absolutely agree. For some reason, the rules of handling a rape investigation disappear when it happens on campus. The school handling it makes as much sense as when the military handles its own rape cases.

The life of a professional witness. Park your shame at the door and enjoy your big check for being the worst.

Thank you. It was a while ago but I'm only 33 so it wasn't thaaaat long ago (god I hope not) and it still hurts a lot and often. But that is why I'm trying to speak out and get the word out now. I never got help when it happened and now that people are actually talking about campus rape I want to be part of the

And victims who are raped by partners or "friends" often feel very conflicted since they can't reconcile what was done by someone they previously trusted. It would be really hard to report your partner of two years, who you dated exclusively, who you thought you had a future with, when they've just raped you. It would

The suspension only last through winter break, which means it means absolutely nothing.

YUP. Dean Eramo on why she does not expel rapists that admit guilt to her: "Well, honestly, I feel like in a context of an informal resolution meeting, there is no advantage to admitting guilt, there is no need to admit guilt if they are not actually in a hearing ... And I feel like that if a person is willing to come

I was going to comment to say EXACTLY THIS.

My college rape experience involves Rutgers who did not do jack shit for their rape victims. I was in my freshman year living on the all-girls campus. In fact, my attacker was a law student working for the county DA. HA right? I had no shot. AND THEN AND THEN my dorm made an example of me by bringing boys from the

It's probably called the "Sally Hemings Clause".

yeah, the victims want justice, it's their regressive sexist culture that doesn't want the guys to get in trouble

So let's follow some rape-apologist logic here and see if we don't go insane at the same time:

I wouldn't say "all." She's gotten very mixed reviews from survivors. It seems like she's decent at being *comforting*, but does absolutely nothing else.

I think my head is going to explode. Jesus Christ on a piece of toast, they didn't shoplift a candy bar, they raped another human being. Save the kid glove treatment for situations that don't involve depraved indifference to the safety and well being of another person.

Eramo said in the interview that students who have admitted to sexual assault during an informal campus proceeding are often not expelled.

I've just read through a petition that was filed with the Department of Health and Human services regarding the handling of a different case of rape on campus and specifically about the misconduct of the nurse who administered the SANE examination. I was thoroughly disturbed by the Rolling Stone article, but now I am

K.

How the HELL did she get in charge of this college?
