considering the average Guatemalan income is 16K$ to the US 50K$ or so, It’ll take a while before mainstream EVs catch up.

I'm completely unsurprised.  It's not like trading in an ICE for EV results in scrapping it like Cash for Clunkers. The third world gets all of our cast-offs including containers full of last week's fast fashion. I'm sure EVs will make it to Africa but outside the most prosperous urban areas they will be super sketchy…

You have never been to Africa, obviously.

This is not new. I grew up in France and for as long as I remember, older cars are being shipped in Africa (Algeria, Morocco... etc) for a second life. Mostly diesel cars though. Sure it might have been accelerated but it is not like EV cars are at a sales rate of 80% in Europe either

RIP to the greatest Frank Castle there has been to date.  Let us not forget his comic timing in The Other Guys.  But the less we say about his season of Dexter the better.
