I also thought the general shot himself. I read that whole scene as Elizabeth struggling to stop him form doing so.

Yeah. Why is Green Lantern in such good shape? His ring does all the work!
Aw, man.
I think he’s a barrista.
That’s not true! THAT’S IMPOSSIBLE!
There’s also this issue: Why would anyone think Supergirl has a “secret identity?” I mean, if Ted from the mailroom looks kinda like a schlumpy Brad Pitt, you wouldn’t be likely to assume that he IS Brad Pitt, inexplicably pretending be a mail room guy.
I mean, we’ve seen her operate at night before.
“Pyle’s antics annoy Sgt. Carter.”
Hmmm. I’m still unclear on what happened. Maybe the guy getting punched should say “Ow! You punched me!”
My favorite part of the movie is that Gotham TV news clip where Batman leaps out of the jury box when Harvey gets the acid. I guess he is really stealthy!
I didn’t read anything genuine about Elizabeth’s smiles and laughter there at all. She was working Phillip.
I thought the Oleg/Tatiana interaction mirrored the Oleg/Stan one pretty well, with Oleg being in the Tatiana role when he talked to Stan.
This was basically my take. Paige was starting to think that she was invincible, and that she was on the same level as her mother. Philip needed to show her she’s not. At all.
Ah. Good point.
Maybe I’m missing something, but why would theater chains want to nuke MoviePass? The theater chain gets paid the full ticket price (or something close), don’t they?
My main problem with the ending was that it indicated that Ash completely failed to stop the deadite apocalypse.
Yeah, I can see him doing a good job with the Daily Planet stuff. The Superman stuff, not so much.
“Damn you and your lemonade!” is a much better line than “I’m the goddamn Batman” IMO.
I’m not a fan of modern day Bendis at all (though I loved his early Marvel stuff on Daredevil and Alias), but putting him on Superman seems like terrible miscasting. I might be interested in taking a look at his take on Batman, but I have less than no interest in his Superman.
The Shadow is a movie that actually could benefit from a “gritty reboot” that could bring out the character’s cold-blooded murderousness, his single-mindedness, and his cruel treatment of his web of agents as pawns in his war on crime.
