I saw a preview showing of Joy Ride in a packed house, and it was great.  It had been a long time since I had that kind of viewing experience.

I think L.A. Confidential is about the only one I can still stand to watch with him in it.

I share your feelings about the show, but if you just skip the first movie and divorce it from the original, they’re fun action movies. I did the same thing with RDJ’s Holmes movies - once I decided they were about Action Victorian Detective and not Sherlock Holmes, they were perfectly enjoyable.
