Him being an earlier model would also explain why Beaty et al. beat the living shit out of Deckard so easily.

Did ALL replicants have a 4-year lifespan, or just the particular models Deckard was hunting? I don’t remember if the film was clear on that or not.

Is Mike Judge single-handedly funding the Nu AVC? That article will never, ever go away.

The show’s mission statement seems to be addressing sci-fi tropes, like this and the space-zoo.

I hope this turns out to be the actual solution.

I like that her VHS collection consists only of bad sequels.

The morality system was weird. I was fine with being punished for murdering “just cashing a paycheck” soldiers and guards, but the non-lethal solutions for the “bosses” were all far worse than death.

Yeah, that was particularly icky “good” resolution.

“Far Side of the World” is the Trekiest of them. They’re chasing an experimental ship! Just change the Americans (or French, as I guess they were in the movie) to Romulans and boom! Star Trek!

I know how to program too:

So, they moved from a movie about a space-smuggler to a movie about a space-smuggler, eh?

Open the pod bay doors, Alexa!

Yeah. I think they take their unhappiness as confirmation that they’re smart, like Rick. They don’t consider that there’s many, many roads to being unhappy.

Yeah, “Where No Man Has Gone Before” seemed to set up the idea that humans with ESP was something that was not super-uncommon (or at least, not unheard of), but this was never followed up on again in any series.

The dutch angles made me think that Adam West was going to show up at any moment and start punching people.

Admiral Ackbar was a terrible officer! All he did was walk into a trap, then give a series of wrong orders that Lando had to fix.

Man, 13 Assassins is great. “You were always better in the dojo. But this isn’t the dojo.”

I think that’s right, but it seems an insane strategy to me. Are there really that many “hard core trekkies?” And even if there are, you’re only going to get about half of them since the approach to the new show is guaranteed to piss off the other half.

I’d throw “Master and Commander” into the pile of “great Star Trek things that aren’t Star Trek.”

Is all the Disney stuff surviving another month? Or is it gone at the end of September?
