I like that she was open. I recently started a new job, and found it super helpful that someone in the industry was open with me about what she made. In fact, women throughout the process were very helpful and I finally feel like I’m being adequately compensated for the work I do.

When I was 25, I got my boss’ job (he was 42) and he got mine. Swap. I asked for a raise and was told I didn’t need one because I was young and didn’t have a family. I left that meeting and went to HR. But then I stupidly quit instead of suing them.
