Looks like an awesome trip! Who knew Indiana had so much to offer. I drive through it all the time, but never considered it to be a “beautiful” state, guess you proved me wrong.

Good work! I’ve spent my fair share of hours doing rust repair work, so I can relate. It is really tough work, and yours actually looks pretty decent. Are you using seam sealer over the welds also?

Audi Exchange in Highland Park. It was a very easy experience. They don’t have the salesperson go with you on the test drive (which is a bonus IMO) and they wipe down the cars before and after you drive. Otherwise it was a pretty normal experience. Read more

Problem: They may need some time to break-in. You can also try some rain-x or similar glass coating. That usually helps them glide nicely. Read more

Not really. I added a few to thread some zip ties in the front undertray. The sides are held in with little screws and rubber straps. I used about a pound of zip ties. Read more

If these fail I would just use wire cutters and rip them out. He’s gonna have this car up in upstate New York. I’d be suprised if they lasted the winter.

I screwed it in all the way then marked where the top was on it before I welded it. I got pretty close and when it’s fully screwed down it’s almost perfectly level.

I have a Plano Sportsman that carries all my tools, straps, tow hitch, etc in the back of Range Rover. Really tough box, but the latches make it difficult to just open one side to grab something quickly. That and they pop off a lot.

It was really cool to see it up close. I actually was trobleshooting my ignition at the same time he posted about how he did the ignition on the postal Jeep. It was cool to see his setup up close and other things like the frame repair he did. Read more
