So this came up for sale on the local CL and I was thinking of picking it up to rebuild and eventually swap into my RRC. The seller doesn’t know how many miles are on it, only that it had bad rod knock.
The shop calls you and tells you they have no idea why the car is not running right, and they’re ready to give it back to you at no charge.
Hey Oppo, long time no talk. I’ve been MIA for the last month or so, but much has happened and after reading this post, you’ll know about it! Apologies for the long post, but also no one is forcing you to read it.
I’ll be honest, this show is 50% of the reason I bought my rrc
was looking for it all week and finally found it as we boarded the ferry to go home
I dug the bumper I bought for the Range Rover our of the corner of my garage. I bought it when I first got the car 2 years ago and due to being dumb, didn’t realize it was made for trucks with 2” body lifts. Opting to not put a lift on the car, I was thinking I would take the bumper somewhere and have a professional…
No mention in this article about a 2 door. Not that I really care, because I wouldn’t realistically buy one either way, but I think the 4 door looks butt. It looks like they grafted a bed onto the back of JL and called it a day. The wheelbase looks to be about 15 feet long.
So, I recently posted about how I’ve been wanting a Mustang for a while. I’ve never bought a brand new car, and I just think Ford did such a good job with the latest ones that I’ve been obsessing about trading in my old A4 for one in short order. When this beautiful, low mile ‘17 came up for sale I called the dealer,…
My younger brother just traded in his 2016 WRX on a low mile 2015 4Runner TRD Pro. He’s the type of guy who things just work out for him. He got a great deal on the trade as well as the 4Runner as those things don’t come up for trade with low miles very often. He also has a “YOLO” attitude and doesn’t sweat the…
Hello Oppo, I have a battery related pondering for you this afternoon.
Finally, after countless hours of head scratching and troubleshooting I got the Rover back up and running. If you’re following along at home, I previously had it put back together after major rust repair work all over the truck. Then I decided that the functional, but weak ignition system should be addressed.
Haven’t posted on the Russian roulette wheel that is Chicagoland craigslist in a while. I’m curious what type of person I’ll meet selling this thing. Usually I have good CL experiences here, but have a few sketchy ones as well. Wish me luck, hopefully I come out of this with both kidneys.
The ignition issues continue in the Rover after installing the MSD 6A, a new coil, and a new set of plugs. I have a new cap and rotor on the way as well, but last night I tried some things and managed to get rid of the missing/stumbling. I cleaned the buildup off of the inside of the cap contacts, and checked all the…
So after years of dealing with my annoying habit of freaking out and taking pictures of stranger’s cars, my girlfriend is catching on. Here’s a few of her recent spots, which are quite nice indeed.
Decided that as a birthday present to myself I would rid the ignition problems from the Range Rover once and for all. Went in whole hog with a MSD 6A box, MSD high vibration coil, Pertronix “Flame Thrower” distributor, and new plugs.
