Your assessment sounds right to me. The 2015 season was a weird one - the Red Bull wasn’t very good, and Ricciardo had the bad luck to retire a few times when he was in a points-scoring position a bit more often than Kvyat (he had him comfortably beaten in qualifying).

That internal lip in the grille looks a bit odd in black too - to be honest I can’t quite figure out why it’s there. It’s not like the opening needs to look any larger than it is, and the internal lip looks fussy.
The styling improves on the first S550, but I think the nose is a backwards step from the face-lift S550 - it just looks a bit unsophisticated in comparison.
