“Not making more than 5 figures" is not the same as "making 4 figures", it's the same as "making less than six figures". Your interpretation is an order of magnitude out.

You know that Lotus is now majority-owned by a big OEM, right? 51% of the company was purchased by Geely a couple of years ago.

Your question reminds me of this:

When I see Graham, I’m reminded of a wonderful quote from The Thick of It. Substitute Graham for Ollie, and I think it fits:

I wasn't arguing whether or not L3 is attainable by its own standards. I was simply saying that they're fundamentally different - L4 and L5 never *require* you to take over the driving task. L3 may.

PGH...

It’s not beautiful. But it’s purposeful, and that has a beauty all of its own.

L3 and L4 are fundamentally different. L4 can safely react to a subsystem failure. L3 cannot. L4 is an absolute minimum to allow drivers to act as if their vehicles are actually autonomous.

V2X doesn't seem to be going anywhere fast unfortunately. It would be a great idea if everyone could get on the same page to ensure interoperability, but that doesn't seem likely. The fact that the spectrum for these communications systems has been sold off for other purposes is another nail in the coffin.

I’d bloody well hope that “we get the full level 4 “the car can do most tasks but safely pulls over when it can’t” feature set before we actually get the restriction lifted on being attentive and ready to respond”. Because lifting that restriction before every autonomous driving system is fail-safe is a recipe for

Likewise. Mine has a glass roof too, and between that and the lack of functional aircon, Australian summers were fun. Better than winters though (those t-tops don't seal too well after 20 years). Mine is off the road at the moment, but I'm looking forward to that wonderful impractical little car being used regularly

So it can be used effectively in 2020s motorsport, I assume.

I think "probably" can safely be changed to "definitely".

It’s artistic patronage in automotive form.

Or the ringlands...

It's certainly a pity that they're used so rarely. I couldn't see much justification for having so many cars that you only drive one a few times a year.
