I’m trying to figure out what my parents are going to end up doing. They’re in their mid and upper 50s, with basically nothing saved for the long term. Between the two of them there’s maybe 8k saved up.

I’ve used Google Music for roughly a year now and have been very happy with it. Honestly though, the biggest thing that keeps me from switching to any alternatives is that it also removes all ads from Youtube.

I’m honestly not thrilled with states legalizing weed. I don’t think it should be illegal and I would love to change federal law, but this sets an awful precedent. What if states get to just pick and choose what federal laws they feel like following? This is a double edged sword that could easily bite us in the ass.

No problem. Wine is very, very subjective so your milage may vary. I hope you have some fun with it :)

“smoky” is a bit of an odd term to use with wine. Though the flavors can change significantly from vineyard to vineyard. If you’re looking for something dark and rich I’d suggest a port, pinot noir, or marechal foch.

Looking at the transcript I included below, she never praised his children for being good people. She praised that they’re able and devoted. She basically praised them for being a close family.

Both of these light bulbs require 9W of power. Since people seem to have so much trouble learning new things, they always list an “incandescent equivalent” on CFL and LED bulbs.

Pretty much everything is just plugging things into the right holes. It’s simpler than building a PC. The only thing I think you’d have to do is image the SD card if you don’t buy one prepackaged.

It’s not something we need to do often, but it’s been really helpful when it’s been needed. I don’t think I’ve ever had people judge me more openly about anything though :P

Not to be overly pedantic, but if it spurted it was an artery, not a vein.

Cinemark hasn’t said whether they’re actually going to make the families pay the costs, but I honestly wouldn’t blame them.

Yeah, I’d love to put these all on my bookshelf, but I’ll take what I can get in the meantime :)

They’re ebooks, not physical, printed books.

I’ll take a look at it, thanks.

Like I said, overall, I’m against the death penalty. Even in this case I’d rather he get life in prison.

That’s an interesting ethics exercise. At what point does “curing” people fundamentally change who/what they are and become not okay? What point are we overriding free will and making people machines?

I honestly wish I could say the same. Overall, I’m against the death penalty, but in cases like this... I can’t really deny that part of me resonates with grumpy cat.

I’m in that camp too. I’ve played several times, and understood it. I’ve just never liked the game. Everyone always looks at me like I’ve sprouted an extra head when I say that though...

It doesn’t have syntax highlighting, but it does format the code well. To me, isn’t a big deal for short snippets, but I know it annoys some.

I’ve used both OneNote and Evernote (Paid Tier) extensively. Overall, I prefer OneNote. It has much better formatting abilities, except for code snippets. Evernote recently added that ability, and I’m really hoping MS introduces something similar.
