This is so up my alley! (No idea how to get out of the grays, so I'm just going to forge blindly ahead, screaming into the void...)

Ativan. And booze. Just not at the same time. ;)
If your friend is an alcoholic then she will always be one. This is a mental health issue not a moral one. If your friend is willing to try to get better then you should be there for her. Addicts do relapse and it's the fact that they pick themselves up and try again that matters. Your friend is still the person you…
Here are my any length flight staples:
Also, sometimes living together means we get lazy in terms of relationship maintenance. As amazing as it is to sit at home (thats why you moved in together right) you need to keep doing the romantic 'date nights' and pleasurable activities together. As the other commenter said, seeing each other is maybe lost some of…
I do Australia to the USA and back in economy once a year. Here are my tips:
aww :-) :-)
you can buy those tiny 'airplane' bottles of booze at a liquor store and put them in your carry on (they're less than 3oz!). i think flight attendants don't really like you having them (profit margins), but just dump them all into a water bottle after security and before boarding?
You don't need to be on-board with the 12-step program if she is and it's something that will help her (it might not be, she might need something different). But please don't go at her with your thinking that "one can totally drink responsibly." Some people can't.
Clothes: layers. Lots of comfy layers. Big scarf that can double as a pillow/blanket is good.
See, I wish one of us had a family heirloom stone, but no. Your ring sounds lovely!
I've done 14 hour hauls before, it's rough. Here are a few things that kept me sane: U-shaped travel pillow, I don't really sleep well on flights, but it does allow you rest decently. Benadryl for sleeping purposes. Ear plugs - not the ones the airline gives you, buy some decent ones. My iPad so I can play games and…
My grandma gave my boyfriend her ring last Christmas Eve and then my bf and I went in together to get it sized and change the center stone from an emerald to a sapphire. I agree with you that you should be a part of choosing such an important piece of jewelry, if that's what you want.
Now the post is out of the greys! Confused but yay!
My partner and I did shop around together. We went to jewelry stores together, I tried on things I liked, realised which styles I didn't actually like anymore once they were on my hand, and I saved ones I liked on Pinterest and Etsy. Eventually my partner ended up buying one of the ones from Etsy that I loved and it…
Yes, drowsy drugs, relatively healthy snacks plus some candy, walking breaks, various forms of reading material.
These look incredible! I liked them when I saw them on another post and I'm starring again because you don't normally get to give two stars. They look/sound like they deserve a lot more though!
Those stupid neck pillows are actually pretty amazing if you don't already have one.
Have you ever tried podcasts? Depending on your interests I have a few funny-commuter-time-wasting and more intellectual ones to recommend. Simply Syndicated has a a lot of great free shows: Movies you should see, Nerd Hurdles, Atomic Trivia 9000, to name a few, and The Definitive Word & Crimes against food (both…
Ooh I've taken some doozies of flights and my advice is to take a coloring book + crayons. You get to a point where you're so exhausted, but you couldn't possibly comprehend anything you read and your eyes get sore from watching movies. Coloring is a great way to relax.
