I dunno the S38 can be really cool, the 2JZ is just an easy swap to get 150 more hp. I like when people tune up the S38 to 11.

“2JZ no shit” and all that, but the S38 is extremely cool in its own right and is what I would’ve kept. High-revving old school NA I6 with ITBs? Sign me up.
Mercedes Benz 600 ‘Grosser’
1954 Gregory Roadster 1 of 1. A pioneer of front wheel drive vehicles, Ben Gregory built this with a Porsche 356 engine in the front powering the front wheels. It’s a beautiful car, I saw it this summer at the Lame motor Museum. Only one that ever made it into production.
What adorable little guys
Even here in Sweden i would say the 1963 SAAB 92h is quite obscure. I remember reading about it in a classic car magazine as a kid and falling in love with the thing. it is basically a Saab 92 with a caravan body ontop. production numbers are 1. then there is a 1965 SAAB 95h that is the same thing once again but now…
Some sort of K-5 blazer like thing, but not quite as big as the originals and with an EV powertrain. And removable top, of course.
How in the holy hell is the Tucker 48 a bad car? As of 2016 92% of the 68 year old cars, at that time, were still in working condition, without the benefit of a massive aftermarket repair industry supporting them.
The guy who had the Mondial, Maserati Biturbo, Mercedes CLC, Jaguar X Type, and BMW XM was the best. It could be any of those and as much as I hate the aggressively ugly XM I gotta go with the Jaguar X Type. Just ugly and pathetic offering from a company that at least has always made pretty cars, if not the best…
I agree. And anyway, Tesla’s Cybertruck handily beats out the BMW XM when it comes to the “shock-and-dismay” factor, for those who think that’s a positive and desirable effect for a vehicle to have upon others.
They should have done electric turbos like the new 911 GTS and thrown out the 1000lbs of extra hybrid nonsense. It only gained 103lbs over the old GTS and a BIG power jump via lag free electric turbos and also gained the increased exhaust noise from not being muffled by traditional turbos.
The 70s luxobarges are tough to beat, but I think the W123 Mercedes gives them a run for the cushy money.
For its time, the Citroën DS, no contest. For all time, either the latest Rolls-Royce Phantom or the Mercedes 600 Grosser (which licensed parts of the Citroën technology).
It makes Tesla’s non-interior look good by comparison.
Lol I did the same thing, it’s horrible
It’s alright for an arcade game, I guess.
I don’t get the hate for this car
I’m assuming you don’t mean “attention” in a positive way. That thing is hideous.
“BMW designers and executives seemed to embrace the controversial design and essentially said they didn’t care if the car was a success or not.”
