There’s never any excusing the scum that were the Nazis. However, since we’re going down this route, we might as well lump in Ferrari, Giovanni Agnelli (FIAT’s founder), Henry Ford (a proud anti-semite and Hitler worshipper BTW), Mitsubishi, BMW, etc. for what they’ve all done during WW2.

The XM. I’ve always loved BMW and still do root for them even if I am not a fan of where their design direction is headed. I’m not saying it’s not wrong to think about sales, as any company that plans to stay afloat, should have a healthy business model. However, with the XM, it’s nothing but a massive steaming fresh

That’s more the Cybertruck. Too different for its own sake with none of the practicality of the other more conventional pickups. Any F-150, Rivian R1T, etc. school it in terms of practicality. It’s also ugly too. Like something that didn’t load into a video game properly.

Are you sure about that? Because, from where I look at it, BMW has made a good number of interesting cars (at least IMO) since the 2002, such as:

IMHO, a lot of folks are unnecessarily harsh on the E60. Sure, in its initial stages, it may not have been the best to look at considering how much of a peak the E39 was, but I feel the LCI E60s (by themselves) are honestly some of the most classy and understatedly beautiful designs ever made and they’ve aged

Actually, I’d suggest the S550 chassis GT350 and GT500 are badass enough and deliver on all fronts, where driving pleasure and joy is concerned. Those come close. Quality can be iffy by Ford, but those are still awesome cars!

Yet the E30 is the only chassis to have won more than 1,400 wins and championship titles, making it one of the most winningest touring cars of all time. Also, the experience is unlike no other. It’s a golden standard for compact cars this side of the Alfa Milanos and other compact Alfas like it.

Agree with you on the newer models, but 1928 was when they still arguably had class IMHO. The BMW Typ 327/28 is an elegant-looking model. Also, the 328 roadster of the time was fairly beautiful and the Kamm Coupe in particular was a fine road car for its time.

What MB model did you have that needed $11K in repairs!?

The Mid 60's Oldsmobile Toronado has to be one of the most classiest designs to emerge from GM’s design studio. Such a gorgeous design!

I always come across a red Thunderbird of that era and it just looks marvelous!

Just wondering, couldn’t you have taken the Cayenne to any quality third party independent Euro mechanic shop to have the brake rotors done? Not that I’m making excuses, but just something to consider for that job alone. As for oil changes and relative maintenance, don’t the Cayennes take well to hard driving? I

The Hybrids in particular? IIRC, the 958 was the first gen for a hybrid Cayenne. Yeah the pre-facelifts can be complicated and aren’t worth the hassle, but really the Cayenne S, GTS, and really anything other than a Hybrid of the 958 generation are actually quite reliable (counting both pre and post facelifts).

Well, to be fair, its meant to be a retro modern design akin to a MINI Cooper, Jeep Wrangler, or even a Dodge Challenger. You may find annoyance in how they all “look the same for 40+ years”, but it’s really just a trademark design that is identifiable from a distance like those other cars that I’ve mentioned. As for

Hey Man! Love the ride and may you take care of her!

I personally find the Panamera’s sportiness a plus. The drives would be entertaining and worthwhile IMHO. I don’t know about the E63's supposed “lack of reliability”, but those 4.0L TT AMG V8s have been more stout and solid versions of themselves. The Pacifica isn’t a bad suggestion either, just rather prefer the

Such a beautiful W212! Classy and elegant!

+1 for the Thor’s Hammer! Such an original design in a time where people take inspiration from one another and try unnecessarily hard. Sometimes, all it takes to being original is focusing on simplicity.

That interior, especially the seats, could use more love. Granted the price may be tad higher for the others that will disagree with me, but finding one that’s in a mechanically-operable and decently maintained condition is hard to come by, so I’ll extend the branch and say it’s NP versus the other junked out ones.
