I’m on the verge of canceling myself and I’ve been subscribed continually to HBO for over a decade. Righteous Gemstones was the last thing keeping me.
A lot of people say a lot of crazy shit on the internet, and I am willing to entertain the possibility that that person is just repeating something that someone else said in a reputable article that was monumentally stupid, not that he/she is monumentally stupid themselves. Also, not holding my breath on that source…
“The migration to Max has gone exceedingly well with the overwhelming majority of subscribers in the US successfully transferred,” WBD CEO David Zaslav said during the earnings call.
Acxtually it’s the exact opposite - the hyper-liberal HBO executives are chasing more woke dollars by switching the name to MAX - which sounds like MARX - in fact It Is MARX without the (R) because the liberal snowflakes are too scared to even SEE the Right Republican R - THEY’RE Trying TO REMOVE LETTERS FRO MTHE…
AT&T is rolling out a price increase for the mobile service plan that includes MAX. They’re instructing sales reps to discuss the pricing change and offer switching to a version of the plan that does NOT include MAX. It’s only a $2.50/month price change but I still expect they’ll lose subscribers over it.
WBD launched Max, formerly HBO Max, on May 23 and boasted that 70% of its existing subscribers had made the switch to its “new” streaming platform within the first week.
The only reason I switched from HBO Max to Max is because I didn’t have to. HBO Max is/was included with my AT&T cell phone service (which is paid for through my employer), so I didn’t have to do anything to keep Max. I’m guessing HBO is counting that as a successful “transfer”, even though I wouldn’t pay for Max if…
My children have watched Sound of Freedom 20 times. It’s a great movie for kids and it teaches them to automatically trust older white men.
But by all indications, it was marketing that let it down, not the movie itself. No one knew what it was about and all the marketing seemed to try and act grassroots and word of mouth when it wasn’t.
They killed Maria Hill for this?
Imagine if the whole story would have been about what happens after the presidents announcement. Spy stuff. Instead of... everything else we got.
Thank you for this write up. Now I don’t have to watch it. What a terrible disappointment.
but they are the only source of revenue that matters when we talk about box office take in
this is 100% correct science i’ve done tests

Dwayne Johnson is a 1 note actor. He plays “Dwayne Johnson” in all his films, with minor alterations. His performance as Black Adam was no different than almost every other role he has ever played, he just plays as himself with either small increases in seriousness or light-heartedness, but it’s all the same. He…
Look, the thing you have to understand is that the best thing in any Marvel movie is when Captain America decks a guy with his shield and then that dude goes flying and The First Avengers has the highest number of instances where that happens. You can’t really dispute that; it’s just science.
The Rock will do anything to help make the movie a success...except move out of his safe mid-tier movie formula.
My hot take: The First Avenger is very, very good for the first half, and the quality drops off ENORMOUSLY after his first mission to rescue the POWs. It becomes incredibly generic from that point forward. Averaging that out, I think the movie is kind of just fine, and a lot of the goodwill comes moreso from what…
