I think gun culture and racism are inextricable, both now and historically. Whites have and want guns because they hate and fear black people. Nothing will dissuade me from that.

Guns are incredibly effective for suicide; perhaps the reason why men suceed far more often than women.

Um you also need to look at the types of guns that we allow here. And where we allow them to be carried. It’s not just number of guns.

Switzerland has a lot of guns but gun-owners (ex-military - military service is still compulsory) aren’t allowed to have more than a very small quantity of ammunition at home. And as a side note, Switzerland has one of the highest rates of suicide-by-gun among young men in all of Europe.

Speaking of Switzerland...seems they had a spate of shootings a few years ago. Mainly husbands killing wives and similar domestic shit. Some Swiss provinces changed their laws on gun possession - people can still own guns, but now they’re locked up in local armories, police stations, etc.
