I mean with Neir: Automata it was supposed to be disempowering. It was supposed to be wierd and offputting and bizarre and uncomfortable to have androids in a filthy destroyed future dressed up like flawless fetish dolls. An immediate visual cue that implied the whole narrative.

You’re right with that second point.  For the sake of historical context, there should be a permanent asterisk appended to Titanfall 2 that mentions its release date in any discussion of its commercial success.

I went to Japan a couple of years ago with some friends. It’s more affordable than I had been worried about - we stayed in a lot of small, business-class hotels that were really lovely (especially the one that served breakfast). It was really easy to see a lot in a short amount of time.

Sony has always had a problem with the concept of non-proprietary memory, there was a whole generation before the Vita of all kinds of their stuff with a proprietary memory stick.  Really awful.

Pendragon is the newest one by inkle, the Heaven’s Vault, 80 Days and Sorcery! devs. Usually some good storytelling happening there.
