This is not to disparage the new XBox, which I’m sure will be a fine console, but if you haven’t heard the version of that song where everyone involved swaps instruments, it is majestic and awful.

Pretty much.  Mark Twain also did a hell of a job as a self-publicist for most of the things he’s remembered for, in the way he wanted to be remembered for them.

gabba gabba hey

If Nintendo’s ‘ultra limited releases’ were at least orderable within a window of time, I would happily pay in advance to secure a copy of so many things. They’d make money, I’d have the product, it would still be a limited release - everyone wins.

I want to see the list of names they didn’t pick, to decide on that one.

I mean, that’s kind of the thing.  Tony Stark’s always been his own worst enemy.

Playing the last version of SSX Tricky was just heartbreaking. Trying to play Steep and being penalized for doing too many tricks too fast (?!) was beyond disappointing.

Somehow, I never got into the THPS series, and since they are never ever going to release a remastered SSX Tricky, this sounds like a great way to fill that hole in my heart.  Very excited it lived up to expectations.

I am all about the Pie Tour of Chicago.

I am gonna make a post-pandemic trip to Chicago just for the pie place that the YouTube algorithm insisted on taunting me with:

I lived in Austin about a decade ago and there was a guy who worked on his Daihatsu in the apartment parking lot... pretty much non-stop. We called him Daihatsu Man.

It’s the boxed version, not the bakery kind, but there’s something that looks a lot like this in the fridge cases at the japanese grocery stores around here.  Usually in regular, matcha and strawberry flavors.

Oh, I agree.  I assume you can get some half-decent bourbon for 25$ and skip the candle entirely.

It’s just expensive enough as a gift to show that you shelled out a decent amount without actually having to care, and it’s the kind of thing that can be easily regifted.

Gotta figure out how to find some low-population apple picking spots. The place we usually go has the lines down to a science, and they also have a good selection of interesting varieties of apples, so even if it’s just grab-a-bag-and-go, that’s better than nothing.

Wow, I never would have heard about this if you hadn’t done the work to show it off. Thank you!

I’ve posted this before but it’s still a cool, related video.

I’m not getting optimistic about games anymore. They have to prove it to me. That goes triple for anything with the extensive explanation of where and how they want me to spend more money in their virtual store, after already spending money on their game.
