This has much, much more of an Ico II feel than a Colossus feel - the art style is very clearly the same, but it seems to rely more heavily on the shouldn't-have-but-did-work escort mission gameplay of Ico than the puzzle combat of Colossus.
Interventions and Lullabies is a fine album, but, it really pales in comparison. If it was an album by some forgettable band, I'd probably actually like it more.

The point where XII opens up really is sublime. The difficulty spikes right around the time that you get enough gambits to use them, and it forces you to learn the system - and once you do, it's great.
