Yep, I once dated someone who’s family was originally Italian but when coming to the US, they changed their last name to a similar sounding French name to hide their origins and avoid anti-Italian racism.

Hm, nope, I disagree. I’m definitely boring!
Ah yes, the old “she’s in the same room as me, she obviously wants to be the mother of my children” fallacy.
I generally go by the assumption that talking to any woman in any situation without being addressed first or having a specific reason to do so (Excuse me, can I get a refill?) would be taken as creepy. It has served me well.
That verbiage is almost always used in publications to indicate that the person involved has not yet be convicted of the crime in question in the court of law. Even if there is video and 1,000 witnesses to a murder, a person is only allegedly a murderer until a verdict has been made; innocent until proven guilty, etc.
There probably just isn’t a mechanism in place for a lifetime ban so they set it to some value that’s well above his potential lifetime.
Yep, I’ve always had a long list of want-to-read books, and I think it will always be that way. It doesn’t bother me in the least and I usually just pick the next book based on what I want to read rather than it’s position on an arbitrary list. It seems strange to me to stress out over that - no one will live long…
Basically, if she catches the guy breaking the order she can have him arrested and they’d then presumably slap him on the wrist and put him in timeout for a period of time before letting him out to do it again. Works great.
Exactly - it seems to me that in weeks, months, or years when we hear that this guy had a freezer full of heads or something that we inevitably hear that one of his first victims made a complaint and was ignored. Why is it that nothing ever gets done until someone is dead or dismembered, especially when it involves a…
Sounds more like “Never buy a Dell or any other PC that uses proprietary parts”...
Yep, same here. An engineer friend of mine wanted to build a PC and despite me telling him not to touch anything until I was there he decided he wanted to get started anyway. In less than 10 minutes he managed to bend all the pins in his processor and somehow burn out the PSU. I still don’t know what he did to the…
Yeah, it’s definitely more of a fizzle and fade to black with you wondering for awhile if that was really the end of the game. But the rest of the gameplay is so excellent and well done that it doesn’t matter besides that ghost of a longing of what could have been.

True, I forgot about FXAA. It’s absolutely amazing to me how many games ran great on my ancient hardware with all the graphics options turned all the way up and simply having AA turned off. Was the framerate good enough for tournament level FPS players? Probably not, but certainly good enough for me.
While that does look like a good deal, the first thing I’d do is replace those fans with ones that don’t have LEDs in them...
Yeah, my the first game my last 6 year old pc had difficulty with was XCOM 2, and I’ve read that tons of people have framerate issues with it. One quick and dirty tip is to turn down/off AA. Yeah, it makes things prettier but honestly, it usually comes with a huge performance hit if you don’t have the shiniest of…
Yeah, my desktop pc is a plain, black, unassuming looking monolith whose case I picked out because it was designed to be quiet and understated. No one would guess that not only do I use it for work but also game on it and I like it that way.
So true, and it’s gotten easier over the years. Just rebuilt my main pc a couple of months ago and was pleasantly surprised at some of the headaches that have been solved since the last time I built one (my last pc was about 6 years old. I build them to last!), and that’s worlds away from what it was like in the 90's…
My main complaint with wireless earbuds is that I’ve yet to find a set that doesn’t fall out of my ears while wearing them, particularly when working out. It makes them way more annoying than it’s worth. Yes, the cord gets annoying at times when moving around but at least the phones themselves stay put in my ear where…
Oh man, it was so good. I remember that after a ton of multiplayer battles I got so good with the lightsaber that when I went back to the single player game I was able to make every single swing of the lightsaber connect and I truly felt like a Jedi at that point. It was also the one and only time I got involved in a…
Mine is this... unless the default is something I really can’t stand I generally don’t change anything and go with whatever I’m given. The only thing I might mess with is options for changing the build of my characters, and then I tend to make male characters super tall and female characters super short. Why? I don’t…
