It is possible that if the government were to force an agreement, they could force one that would be better for the workers. I wouldn’t hold my breath. I think they would say that a significant chunk of workers were fine with the negotiated deal, so that’s the one that stands.

Polls are almost always taken of “likely voters”. The hope is that we’ll get a whole bunch of people who don’t usually vote to suddenly wake up to the very real possibility of fascists taking control of the government and stripping them of their rights.
