Maybe I’ll get used to it, but so far I’m not a fan. The slow, flashy banners animating as I scroll keep making me pause because it feels like the page isn’t fully loaded yet and I’m about to scroll past a potentially interesting deal because its image hadn’t loaded in yet.

I wouldn’t mind having one of these for different phone models, like the 6s. Looks pretty cool.
I’d argue that it’s a perfectly valid way to “deal” with it too, but to each their own.
I’m on iPhone 6s and the update hasn’t slowed down my phone one bit. YMMV of course.
Can’t say I agree with this, although I’m sure it varies by phone model and age. I’m using a 6s and iOS 11 has been pretty much nothing but positives ever since I installed it. No bad performance, no unfixable problems.
“Yes, I know the article says you’re not stopping anyone, but the headline certainly says you are.”
I’m no high school dropout or anything, but I appreciate IFTTT’s simplicity. More complex apps have a barrier of entry to understanding and making good use of it. IFTTT is similar and still sometimes hard to make good use of for the average person, but being based around a single “if this then that” condition keeps it…
Agreed on both counts. Yeah, it’s not hard to just not read articles that pointlessly go into topics like that, but seeing them every day can be really disappointing compared to how it used to be.
“I’d rather support a platform that seeks to inform people on current events than one who sticks its head in the sand for the comfort of a subsection of readers.”
Without explanation, that statement means absolutely nothing.
It hasn’t been a 100% smooth ride but I am glad I went ahead and updated instead of waiting around for it to be more stable first. iOS 11 feels more polished overall and some of the new features like ARKit are enjoyable to mess around with.
Not a bad deal at all.

Preeeeeeeeetty sure that’s a joke going over your head, buddy.
Just change “getting in” to “getting THROUGH” and this discrepancy is fixed.

Not the worst idea, but definitely too full of holes. Practically any kid would find a way to remove it, silence it, or cut it off from the connections required to receive those texts.
“Sweet. Got this well-laid-out article finished with plenty of advice and goals to make myself a better person.
Ahh, so it’s yet another usual Lifehacker “You’re doing X wrong, here’s how you REALLY should be doing X” article, but turned up to 11.
