2nd: why do people keep giving Fisker money? Unbelievable
2nd: why do people keep giving Fisker money? Unbelievable
This is what rich people do, we’re not rich so it doesn’t make sense. Does Elon’s $100K rust bucket with 250 mile range make sense? If another billionaire sinks all his billions into a stupid EV experiment, at least jobs were made and people got paid. The Saudis sinking billions into Lucid - what’s the likelihood they…
Time to recycle the clickbait back to a cruise ship disaster/death/emissions fiasco.
I truly hope Lucid succeeds because we need more EVs in the market to rival Tesla on its home turf of advanced technology. I know Sandy Munro said Lucid has the most advanced and efficient electric motor he’s ever seen while their engineering/design team are focused on car handling/ride way more than Tesla’s team. I…
I give it until mid-summer and then the 4th of July Clearance sale would be when to pull the trigger.
Not as bad as the person who got a quote from CarMax for his year old Mach E.
Wouldn’t this apply to any car that does 0-60 in under 4 seconds (Dodge Hellcat, Corvette, Porsche Turbo, etc.) or is it just the fast EVs replacing their tires every year?
1st Gear: considering that VW is tied to the hip with Chinese companies (software, suppliers, manufacturing, rebadging, etc.), VW might as well be excluded from this group.
By summer those prices will drop another 10% and by winter?
You can choose not to buy Tesla because of Crazy Elon, but don’t even compare the Model Y to GM’s crap Blazer EV issues - GM is definitely not winning any friends with the Blazer EV. Over the course of the next 5 years of ownership, it’s not difficult to guarantee that the 2023 Model Y will be more trouble free than…
It’s obscene if you take into consideration the absolute failure of its software and QC from the early reviews of the Blazer EV.
Maybe you’re being sarcastic, but the Model Y and Model 3 are so much better dollar for dollar than anything GM can muster up. I’m sure eventually GM will get there, but it will be at least a decade.
1st Gear: What’s the over-under on this? Would “only” 3 recalls in 2024 constitute an improvement?
Yep - this is how Walmart dominated, by fully leveraging China manufacturing partners wherever it could.
1st Gear: BYD Seal costs the same as the latest Model 3 when both are spec’d to be the same so ultimately, when comparing apples to apples, a “good” Chinese made car is not saving you any money - just another option. TLDR: he preferred the Model 3 although was impressed that the Seal was so competitive. This is why…
Tesla needs to pivot hard into an advanced battery storage company then eh?
here you go, TLDR he likes the latest Model 3 a little more than the BYD Seal and both are similarly priced within 2% of each other so Tesla wins this one because ultimately - you get what you pay for in either car. If China makes a competitive car, it won’t be cheap and you might as well just get a Tesla in this case.
Yep, crap cars are affordable - it’d be nice if something better was affordable but hey, GM gotta make money right?
Chinese battery company CATL is literally the best (most advanced, scalable, forward thinking, etc.) in the world - they put LG Chem to shame and Panasonic/Tesla can learn a thing or two from CATL, oh yeah, Tesla is sourcing its batteries from CATL as well as Porsche and any other premium brand willing to “pay for the…
USA is “doing something” but it’s not even close to the hard cash that China has been pumping into their EV ecosystem - it’s not just financing car & battery companies, but R&D and engineering brain drain abroad (who do you think is paying Stanford for Chinese students to study there?).
