Thanks for the heads up!
Better late than never, indeed! They control quite a few franchises I care deeply about, so even if they are buying into this mindset late, it still makes me hopeful for this next gen.
There was a bit more he talked about which I think bears mentioning as well:
Different companies though, Squeenix was pouring a lot of money into PC ports that year. Ubi has an ok track record in my opinion, though optimization isn't their strongest trait.
When people say "X is the future of Y", they usually mean that its replacing something that currently exists. If you say 3D TV is the future of TV, you are generally implying that regular TV is or will be obsolete.
Oh yeah, definitely not implying that. VR will be huge in other areas as well, though it will start with games.
Eh, let's not argue semantics. You, of all people, know what I mean (we had a similar discussion long ago about immersion!). I'm not talking about mediums existing, I'm talking about game design paradigms becoming obsolete.
This is sort of my issue whenever people say that the VR is the future. I'm actually quite interested in VR but I don't think it's going to replace gaming as we know it. It's certainly a future of gaming, but traditional forms of games are always going to exist.
Hmm yeah I hope they do animate the rest. The anime had its ups and downs, but it wasn't the worst adaptation ever and I think without filler it could be pretty great.
It's over?! I took a break from reading it a year ago, always planned to get back into it later (as you can tell from my avatar, I'm a fan) but damn, I didn't think it would finish any time soon.
Yeah yeah, its not gonna win a fight with a top of the line PC, but it can play most games in high/ultra at decent framerates.
Hmm, that's a good point actually. But I'm still a bit unsure... I probably will cave though and get it on PC since its cheaper.

Thanks for the site. I usually used to base my actions on the benchmarks on NotebookReview, for example, here is my card:
That's what I'm unsure about. On paper my laptop is definitely more powerful than a PS4, but a console can generally get a lot more bang for buck on worse hardware. There's also the fact that performance is almost always lost in sub-par PC optimizations. I never had to worry before since all multiplat games always…
Yeah, I always connect my laptop to my TV when I game. Generally works very well!
Possibly. I'm less concerned about mods though, if they really turn out spectacular I wouldn't mind buying the PC release way down the line when it inevitably gets discounted big.
AC4 on PC was pretty great. I've played AC2 and Revelations on PC as well and they were great. My laptop is pretty powerful though, and I've heard they don't optimize that well on lower end machines.
Hmm, there haven't been a lot of mods for Ubi games though right? I might be wrong. That doesn't really matter to me though, the only games I mod are Bethesda ones.
I dunno, I haven't played GTAV yet, so I'm a little unfamiliar with the characters.
