Rob Dahm. Cool guy. Grease monkey, just like every one of us, except that he saved his money over many many years with one goal in mind: This car. Sucks that he crashed it.

This is the problem with everyone who was posting all angry about the bikers yesterday: they did not watch or understand the video. At 0:50, shortly after the "brake-check"—>rear-end, you see a crowd of bikers around the car and, to the best of my ability to see anything (and correlate the video to the stories

This is what I told people who jumped all over Top Gear US' ass. Is that show perfect? No! Is it as good as the Brits? Nah. But they are improving and figuring it out.

We have these in Ohio.

Just a theory: He couldn't see the [what I can only assume to be malfuntioning] barrier.

95% of people rarely put a load on their trucks because they are rarely used as an actual pickup and more like a family car with a huge open trunk that eventually they buy a cover for because their 50 bags of Wal-Mart groceries fly all over the place. Ford was smart to make this move because they know their target

If Ford/Chevy/Dodge made the Diesel option less than the typical ~$9k it might be more attractive. Think about that - you could buy a small car for what it costs to put a Diesel in a truck these days.

I believe 13 year old me can sum this story up pretty well: Richard Lake is a pussy and the chopper pilot didn't have time for triflin' bitches.

Wow, I'm glad Lake made it out okay. I've had a swollen hand before ( mosquito bites) and let me tell you guys, its nearly impossible to do anything other than curl up into a ball, and suck your thumb while repeatedly crying for your mother. A pacifier can sometimes help, maybe that's what Lake did, but he's a brave

You mean like practising actual journalism? That's apparently far too much to expect...

What a difference a story makes when you have ALL of the facts. Seems to me there's a lesson to be learned in here somewhere.

check it out:

Modern VW TDIs don't smell. Don't know about pickup truck diesels though.

I would just like to see some medium diesels in 1500s and colorado size trucks and some more small diesels in certain classes of passenger vehicles. I don't think diesel suits small economy cars in america the way it does in europe.

Seeing this makes me want to Technicolor yawn. CP to the max.

European rallye trucks crossing a river. Just a little perspective on how lucky the firetruck. If purpose built offroad trucks can get stuck crossing a known river, why would firemen try to forge a massively flooded street with who knows what type of debris under the surface.
