Big slight on Dworkin there.

And Dworkin would likely have a lot to say about #metoo. If she criticized it, it would probably be for not going far enough. Which is all the more reason characterizing #metoo backlash as second wave is...let’s say inaccurate.

Possibly. My line of thinking was this:

I suspect this is related to anti-baby boomer sentiment.

Well put.

And everyone has always hated Katie Roiphe.

LOL it was her doing this that inspired me to learn how to cook. (Also, she wasn’t a very good cook and it was self-defense. Years later I found out my father had taught himself for the exact same reason.)

Not sure how they get hatred of sexuality out of women wanting to be able to own their own sexuality whilst not getting harassed or assaulted.

this feminism, which beyond denouncing the abuse of power takes on a hatred of men and of sexuality

This. I’d tolerate some bites to play with lemurs.

He does everything I ask of him

My mom’s rule was “you eat what I cook or you make your own dinner.” My mind was blown when I found out some parents will make separate meals for every family members to cater to their wants.

As someone who prides herself on self awareness, I’ll just warn you to be prepared for this: acknowledging your weaknesses is often seen as a weakness in and of itself. It’s valuable to know them but keep them to yourself or be prepared to have people lecture you on your low self confidence/poor self esteem.

I’m trying to strike a balance between efficiency and convenience* and the time consuming and inconvenient diet that controls my IBS. It’s very, very difficult.

I’ve always felt sorry for her but never believed that excused anything she did.

I dont see why or how anyone uses margarine.

Butter is awesome and margarine is crap.

I had to really make a stink about it, but Amazon finally agreed to only use USPS to send me stuff when no other carrier can do it.

I wrote “return to sender - not at this address” and put it back in the mail box. My carrier retrieved it, then redelivered it to me later that week.

It really can be relative. I have, at my size, been called “skinny,” “curvy,” “fat,” and “any man who can get a hard on with you in the room should be committed.” Different strokes, I guess... .
