It took the Hornsdale Power Reserve in Australia 2 years to recoup the initial cost. They’ve actually expanded it since they built it.

I’m not going to say they’re smart, but they’re smarter than people give them credit for. The fact of the matter is these tactics work on enough customers to justify their continued use.
Uber sure seemed great at first, didn’t it? But they treat their employees like shit and have fought for the right to keep doing so, They’ve covered up things their employees have done and in general they’ve existed by burning through venture capital without ever actually making money. They are a shitty company by…
I think progressives (which I think most of this site’s writing staff is or tries to be) has more or less turned on silicon valley because its become evident that, at best, silicon valley is just as morally bankrupt as any established company in whatever industry they are trying to “disrupt.” At worse, they are…
The biggest problem with Silicon Valley “disruptions” is that these people think they are the smartest people in the country when often they don’t know shit about what they are doing.
The dealer is called Kleen Cars. But this Cayenne hasn’t been cleaned. Sheesh! There’s oil on the engine cover , dust on the instrument cluster, and the floor mats are dirty. Send a lot boy to wash that car and then we’ll talk!
That is the lowest-priced diesel Cayenne I can find. So while I couldn’t be moved to pay for it at any price, evidently the market considers that to be a Nice Price.
A Nice Price for somebody, but not me. I’ve had diesels and experienced more problems than with any gasoline-a-mobile. Plus the “thrill” of pulling alongside giant semis and waiting while they filled 100-gallon tanks, lost its charm after a while. Still, I know these are sought after and this one seems good shape, for…
I’m 46 years old, I have an E46 and E90, both manuals and one is a wagon. My daily driver is a company provided 2020 Toyota Camry, a freaking spaceship compared to my old bimmers.
Just an FYI, you have to call them “replicas” Any owner of these fiberglass beetles loose their minds if you call it a kitcar
If you’ve ever seen an iPad, you’ve seen the interior of a Model Y.
Tesla only has two interior options. Black or white. They all look exactly the same.
Respectfully, it’s not feasible to go all EV (yet). As another comment noted, the charging infrastructure won’t be there for a few years, at least. As a former carrier I can tell you that many offices do not have a way to effectively add dozens of charging stations to their existing parking lots. Many offices also are…
There should be n0 ICE-only driveetrains because instead the first units should be a Prius-like hybrid drive. The constant stop and go of this vehicle would be a perfect application of a hybrid drive with plug-in capability. They could lift that drivetrain from either Ford or GM existing vehicles, so it doesn’t have…
These are my preferred approach, with the trackside backup being the Harbor Freight barrel crimps with the integrated heat shrink. One of the best products they sell, IMO.
Many, many Texans didn't learn that at all. Nancy Pelosi is the reason they have frost bite (somehow (don't ask.))
Yep. FIL has nothing but JD tractors, and more. He’s had a few issues in the last couple years in resolving issues that were in software that crippled his tractors and stopped work. Waiting for a technician to come out is about as well organized as you can imagine. In two cases, the first person that showed up…
Got one of these on-sale for $20:
My old splices were the crappy Scissor things. I am pretty strong and I would absolutely ream on the tool to get the wire to not slip out. And I would destroy the crimp because the plastic part was cut through by the crappy tool. Then I would coat it with a ton of electrical tape and hope it didn’t short.
Here’s the thing. Big tires? roof racks? slight lift? These are the things that are easily and cheaply solved in the aftermarket. You know what these models NEED and can’t be provided by the aftermarket? Transmissions that don’t pull power, overheat and die after 50,000 miles when used off-road.
