It’s inherent in the engine design. The rotary is closer to 2 stroke than a 4 stroke. The oil in the fuel keeps the apex seals lubed. In a 4 stroke, the pistons are oiled from underneath so, the rings prevent oil in the combustion chamber.

I’m just waiting for someone to build a proper gas or diesel-electric hybrid compact(ICE as generator only) t

I agree there are limits to freedom.  He seemed to down the plane in an uninhabited place but, if he had hurt someone, he’d deserve having the book thrown at him.

Thanks.

What’s the actual cause of the fires?

I can look back at my life and see numerous situations where I do things like this and then realize after the fact, it wasn’t as good an idea as I thought it was at the time. Because I have impulse control problems too.

I wouldn’t even know about this video if Jalop hadn’t posted it on the front page for everyone to gawk at.

My only problem with the vehicle is the price. I like it otherwise.

I’ve got a big shrug going. Even if he did stage it, why should I care? I’m not his insurance company. This is just a natural progression from jumping Raptors or blowing up Teslas. As long as nobody died, why should I care?

This is what I’d buy in today’s market too.

I got the warning from Acura. I’ve always updated firmware using wifi anyway.

There is DEFINITELY an attitude that it’s a privilege to have that job and that you should be willing to work very long hours for less money than traditional jobs as a result.

Yeah... that’s pretty much the case with any cars with the latest tech. I remember the same reasoning was used for people avoiding cars with that new-fangled thing called “fuel injection”... preferring to stick to vehicles with carbs.

This is so Ford. They can’t even mount a sound deadener panel correctly.

It’s exceptionally hard to ICE a typical EV. I know you’re kidding. For example there’s no place to mount the gas tank. “Rich Rebuilds” installed an LS engine in a Tesla but, it require extensive re-construction to make it all fit.

It will probably be comparable to doing an engine or transmission replacement on a modern car.

and delay efforts to electrify the nation’s automobiles.

You asserted that better fuel economy = more driving. I’m simply saying I don’t believe that’s true. As for emissions, I imagine a car with better economy has lower total emissions because it’s consuming less fuel for the same miles.

A leftover car is still considered a “new car”. You and I can agree that a car that sat on the lot for a couple years isn’t new by our definition but, it would be treated as a “new sale” if you bought it.

“New” just means “never registered”.  If you can find a 2017 Honda sitting on a lot and buy it, it’s still a “new” car. Even though it’s 4 model years old.
