individual care, attention, and maintenance records are worth 100x more than factory build quality.

You have to be picky about what Honda you buy. Less so with Toyota but even some of them are problematic. Like no Honda V6 auto from 00-05. 05-14 CRV, O5-14 Odyssey. Civic in that year range.
This is how I feel about S2000's. Was fun, don’t need to experience it again.
The 350z weights nearly twice as much at the ‘86. I agree it’s a good choice for a car to beat on but it’s a bit too much car to compete with a lightweight sports car. The Miata is the closest thing to the ‘86 in spirit anyway. An RX8 with engine swap would be another good choice.
I can’t really get a full picture but it looks like the donuts happened on private property. If I put down a skid-pad in my front yard (it’s about 7 acres) the cops can’t come on it and give me a ticket for doing donuts. Nor can they steal my car like they did here.
I recommend you don’t go looking into the cost of a modern transmission or engine.
I’m generally against asset seizure, but in this case - GOOD! Hopefully someone gives it a better home when the cops auction it off.

8 years old. Out of warranty. Catastrophic battery failure which Tesla wants $17-20K to fix. Instead he’s going to have to dismount the 1500 lb battery and freight ship it someplace for a $1000 fix on top of shipping. Then there’s the “Bolt” which might burn your house down while charging.
As Ars Technica explains, shutting Gingerbread’s access to Google apps and services is a service to the rest of the Android operating system. Those older versions of Android don’t have access to the latest security features like two-factor authentication, which means they aren’t all that safe in today’s world.
$2 million is what you need to have a comfortable retirement.
My Fit is exactly that way. It’s like first gear was set particularly low to give the illusion it has some pickup. Once you hit 35, it’s a struggle to get to 60.
I’d kinda like to have one too even though I know I’d probably regret it. You’ll probably never find a car built like this ever again.
I’ve never seen a flush make any difference in a case of overheating. The ‘stat typically doesn’t either unless it’s stuck closed but you’ll find that out right away.
Should have tried running the heater at full blast. See if that brings the temp down.
Less maintenance, no stopping at gas stations, less tax (in my state), use of HOV lanes, free charging, mobile repairs, and instant torque, are some of the things I enjoy with my tesla. It saves me time and money.
the energy to charge them is nearly free compared to gas. They require almost no maintenance. Some are absurdly fun to drive, etc. I don’t see any real barriers if you’re buying an EV that meets your personal criteria.
Sure they’re getting better. Still at something like 2% of the total car mix though. I’m not seeing huge demand for EV’s not made by Tesla. When DVD’s came out, I never even considered buying a tape again. Same for CD’s. My computer is about the most powerful PC you can buy. Because it makes a large difference in my…
Can you imagine if we’d had your attitude back at the introduction of the internal combustion engine? If everyone said they were a “bad value proposition” (whatever that means) because we already had horse feeding troughs and people who cleared the sh*t from our streets?
Calling you out for your lies doesn’t automatically make me a shill. In the spectrum of “bad” what the Chinese are doing is certainly bad but, it’s not gas chambers bad.
