My point is it’s disingenuous for a nation that drops a 75 ton space station on the earth that spreads debris over a large area, to be pearl clutching because a competitor nation drops a much smaller object on the earth.

I will also try to replace it with a stainless one as long as it’s not structural.
Thanks. I’ll keep that in mind.
YouTube TV is already aggregating channels like that. As long as they don’t charge what the cable operators charge, we’ll probably be sticking with YT TV.
I tried watching old top-gear with the new hosts. I couldn’t understand a word they were saying. I understood the old guys just fine but the accents of the new 3 are pretty deep. Still it looked pretty fun. I just need to turn on subtitles.
We’re affluent too and haven’t bought a new car in 10 years. Last 2 have been a couple years old. It’s just hard to justify going that deep in debt, particularly since cars are so well made these days. The difference between a new and 2 year old car is pretty insignificant.

Haha, great minds think alike I guess.

I haven’t. Any sane person can look at the state of the US and see that we’re in trouble.
If a corporate project is going to make an entire area unusable for the purpose it was being used for, these people should be bought out and allowed to move. The solution to putting in these projects that destroy the surrounding area is to buy up the area they’re going to ruin.
There’s also China’s possible enforcement of laws requiring carmakers to store vehicle data collected on servers within its borders.
Sounds good. I slather anti-seize on pretty much every bolt I take off and put back on my cars. Particularly the ones under the car. I find it prevents corrosion from freezing them together.
Something that occurred to me after my original post is that what GM is finally understanding, and something all other car companies will eventually realize is that destroying the middle class and sending work over-seas will eventually mean few customers left who can afford your cars. The ultra-long loan terms were a…
I’ve wondered how much anti-seize changes the required torque. From my experiments, it’s not that much.
Yeah, I impact till there’s contact and then finish with a torque wrench.
What you’re supposed to do is finish the job using a torque wrench.
I think you’re right but it’s also because back in the day, pre-computer, 50's 60's and 70's there wasn’t nearly as much competing for your entertainment time too. My hobbies are cars, reading and video games. There’s only so much free time in the day to do fun things.
This is what I see too. I’ve said it before, car ownership will be like having horses. At one point everyone had one, then they became the hobby of the affluent. EV’s which are basically cell phones on wheels will just hasten the cars as appliance conversion.
Are young’ins and the poor buying new cars and then trading up to nicer versions or are they buying used because they simply can’t afford even a cheap new car?
