Yours is a very wordy post, and I'll have you know I read all of it, but I can't respond to all of it, at least not as I'd like to. I will say that Mother 3 felt like it had a stronger story and narrative, and more fleshed-out characters. Where Earthbound felt, to me, like an early SNES experiment (even though it was

My issue with the Tales series is that it "pays homage to" (steals) ideas from other JRPGs... But everything about them is too fluffy for me. The chibi look, the childish tone and dialogue, they're not for me. I admit: The battle system is pretty cool, and it's almost enough to string along the games (I played Abyss

I also wrote it for TAY though, which is a much smaller, tighter forum for discussion. I wrote it accordingly.

For the thousand of you so desperate to know why I wasn't crazy about Earthbound (note that I never said that it was bad and that no one is allowed to like it), here's a list of reasons I gave earlier:

There doesn't have to be problems... I just didn't like it. It PLAYED fine, don't get me wrong, but the whole tone and feel of it just didn't do anything for me. Is that a bad thing?

Whee! Let's make more blind assumptions! The tone of your comment suggests you me that you fancy eating rocks and selling alcohol to minors.

Oh god! No wonder the intellectual lightweights are building and set firing to straw men in my back yard!

<3 you too. I didn't know I needed to write a 4000 word review on why I didn't like it, but okay. I didn't ask Kotaku to feature this article, they just did. All I wanted to say is that I don't understand why people think its so great, despite the common reasons they give.

Cry moar.

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?

Is it weird that I'm actually thinking the same thing? I've written way better TAY threads than that, and this is the one they pick? :P I think it's to stimulate discussion more than anything though.

I also dislike those games. I out-and-out hate ME2, primarily because I loved ME1 and ME2 didn't do a very good job of carrying on where ME1 left off. AC2, I dunno... Once I got to Italy, I couldn't help be reminded of all the suburban Italians with attitude problems in the metropolitan Toronto town of Woodbridge, or

Kinect developers need to make more games and less tech demos.

But it was free-ish in the last Humble Indie Bundle.
