Is that counting Kim’s money?

I really wish this would drop off the front page because I find that picture irrationally disturbing.

Right now people are probably freezing a lot of things that they wouldn’t have in the beforetimes. But when you really should go to the store as seldom as possible, the freezer is your friend.

For what it’s worth, in the book it was exactly that.  

My mom was big into jellow salads and as the siblings got older we gave her so much grief over them she stopped making them. I’d kill to have her around to make me a jello salad.

This is a much more polite way of saying what I said.

You might want to do some research into when Boomers got old enough to buy refrigerators versus when they became common in American households.  Or don’t.  Let’s not pass up an opportunity to shit on Boomers.

Reverse-seared steaks are cooked in the oven at a low temp until they reach some certain temperature that I can’t recall.  Then they’re taken out, rested and seared quickly in a hot pan. 

I think the salt we use when we cook at home can’t begin to approach the salt in prepared food or even restaurant foods.  I just don’t sweat it.  

Cooking rice like pasta is the only way I can cook rice. Lucky for me I’m not wild about sticky rice. 

I am pathologically incapable of following a recipe to the letter, which I why I don’t do much baking.  When I want to cook a thing, I look up a bunch of different recipes for it and mix and match the elements that I like and ignore those I don’t.

So it looks like some of those videos are from his cooking show that he made at his home with his family. Every episode he cooks with a different one of his kids. Honestly, if you’d only ever seen him in Hell’s Kitchen, you never recognize him.

I’m kind of surprised we aren’t seeing more about the Bugs. They really are non-entities.  Maybe they’re going to scrap - or significantly rewrite - that whole bit. 

To be fair, he did have a choice and he made it.  Every day he doesn’t head for the stones to go back by himself is another choice he’s made.  

I really enjoyed this episode, though I did not expect to. The section of the book that deals with the near aftermath of the hanging is a really tough read so I’m glad that we skipped the first three months.

I’m having trouble remembering what else happens in this book.  The later books really run together in my mind.

It’s made me sensitive to other actresses who are doing the same thing. The actress that plays the lead in A Discovery of Witches was reminding me of Sophie Skelton and sure enough, she’s British trying to do an American accent.

When I was in high school or maybe early in my UNO years, I went to Florida with some friends. We were at a bar and we needed to leave but we weren’t finished our drinks so I asked for a go cup. I was gobsmacked to learn that wasn’t a thing in Florida. Or almost anywhere, really.

This is fascinating because I grew up in New Orleans and have never heard of this.
