So I was listening to the beginning of Game of Thrones (the book) this morning on the way to work. When GRRM is describing Ned’s sword, Ice, he says this:

I have that. At home I manage it by making sure the teevee is on when we’re eating because the sound of my own chewing bugs me, too. Restaurants are usually loud enough that it isn’t an issue.

I was streaming, if watching via the HBO channel on Amazon Prime on my television counts as streaming, and it was fine.  Dark, but not so dark that it seemed to be unintentional.  Just dark enough to set the mood.  Oh, and I was in a dark room.

My stream was just fine - it seems like a lot of people with cable were the ones having the problems.
