I went once during the Twilight craze. Dontjudgeme. I finished all 4 books that weekend. I normally never leave the house on black Friday (back before it spread to nearly all if November) but B&N was dead as a doornail on that day.

It actually WAS illegal in all 50, then overturned by a judge for being unconstitutional based on some interstate commerce law. IANAL so I didn’t dig too deep into that, hopefully it doesn’t mean what it sounds like (yer daughters are property). So yeah, state’s rights.

I have no idea if there are independently owned stores out there (like Portillo’s is local, but you can find them in a few other states). Their website said they only had about 12 stores in the area and one in WI.
