Same. I live in a condo with a large recycling bin, but I only take *my* bin out when it's full. So everything goes in clean and dry. 

WILL it biodegrade though? Don't most landfills compact everything to maximize fill, and you need air to break down... Some even layer their trash with plastic sheets to avoid contamination of nearby water tables. So I imagine things in landfills are just there forever.

Tell the people who are actually producing the plastic. This problem isn't going to be solved by the very last link in the chain.

I donate them to my local humane society. I cannot speak for all shelters, but this one uses them as enrichment tools for the dogs. I’m sure they’re tossed once the dogs have snuffled all the pb out of the jar (and sometimes chewed on).

My dentist, doctor, and hair dresser all make reminder calls or emails. None of these offend me, despite being the type of person to have redundant calendar reminders. Get over yourself.
