Napoleon Dynamite is absolutely hilarious and deserved all of its success.

I always figured that the success of this movie lay in the fact that it’s a story of a pretty ordinary-looking woman—maybe not actually homely, but let’s be candid, sort of homely-adjacent—with a very handsome boyfriend.

Sounds like these types of films are not your cup of tea.

Also, the term “overrated” is overrated. I find that word can usually be translated to, “lots of other people like this thing I don’t like; therefore, it’s their taste that is in question and not mine.”

KNIVES OUT is sort of this year’s MBFGW - a “good” movie that you can take your older parents to on an afternoon matinee, isn’t 2 and a half hours long, isn’t part of a giant franchise, isn’t full of explosions, and you feel kinda like you’re going against the grain by seeing it, even though it’s a huge box office…

Not to worry. I’m sure someone will figure out some other investigation that she just has to be subpoenaed for. It is critical that she never stop serving as an example of just what happens if you embarrass the American government and military.

There were several damning parts of this email dump that stood out to me, and the most satisfying one was the missive from his own brother, which I’ve included below (quoted from this Vulture article), emphasis mine.

The article has put an odd spin on this, maybe accidentally, by phrasing it “Nair had tried to crowdfund”. She tried and succeeded: Waligwa got treatment and her cancer went into remission. She was “given the all-clear in 2017" (BBC) but the cancer came back.

I 100% believe these girls who were born as boys identify as female and are trans.

Bowie allegedly was still going after underage girls (in the 90s) long after he admitted to statutory rape of a 14 year old (in the 70s). Always was surprised that story got “hushed” up....and the fact that Don Johnson still has a career even though he openly “dated” (raped) Melanie Griffith when she was only 14.
