Just leave. You will miss literally nothing. I can’t even think of a time since I left facebook that I thought “having a fb would be useful right now”

Huh. Maybe it’s because we’re extremely similar, but Alex Navarro is by far my fave duder. Kinda wish Rykert had joined them because I love their chemistry, but Rykert’s new podcast is great too.

Ditto

From their introductory podcast, it sounds like Jeff and Red Ventures wanted to really branch out (and potentially become less....all white men), and Vinnie, Alex, etc didn’t really want to have to do whatever the corporate paymasters wanted at any given time.

The wayback machine has quite a few logged versions of the AVclub, but you kinda have to know what you’re looking for: https://web.archive.org/web/20060614220620/http://www.avclub.com/content/home

Well, AVClub started in the 90s as a non-joke subsection of the Onion, which was an independent site, like IO9 and Deadspin. AVClub used to have a much larger, more consistent staff and much larger range of content (people like Keith Phipps, Scott Tobias, Tasha Robinson, Genevieve Koski, Nathan Rabin, Amelie Gillette,

TRUUUUU

This, exactly.

Well, it’s been 700 years since APOLLO, more than enough time to diversify languages, let alone accents. However, I kind of view HZD’s language like Nier’s - I think all the characters are speaking some totally different language (presumably APOLLO’s designers would have come up with a much simpler unified language

I don’t think Jay-Z is this gaudy. It’s definitely someone TRYING to be like Jay-Z, though. Definitely a middle aged white guy.

The fact that the owner’s favorite champagne is Armand de Brignac (whose oldest vintage is like, 2008 - it’s the Cristal of the aughts) suggests that they are new money that probably just said “uh, ok” to every suggestion Rolls Royce made.

Yes, this is a major sticking point in union negotiations. If the actor/actress is kept in the dark as far as what game they’re going to be auditioning for, they have much less leverage to ask for higher pay. They know the company hiring them, but like, if you were auditioning for Square Enix, you don’t know if you’re

100% the best

This movie proved that William Fichtner gets all the credit he deserves, as does Olyphant, and that Polley should have been a HUGE friggin’ star (I know she’s a respected director now, but still)

Tideland was for sure Gilliam’s last “good” movie.

Maybe stop listening to 40 years of US government propaganda about who the good guys and who the bad guys are, and do some of your own research?

Odyssey let you turn your horse into a flaming beast out of Hades....a cat, by comparison...

Bakalar is in a nebulous place, though, as he worked at CNET, which was ALSO bought by Red Ventures, and they seem to be combining/condensing their purchases into “Tech” and “Games.” Bakalar had said he would be shunted from CNET to “Games,” but there is no info on what that will entail. I’m not so sure I see him

They just announced this week’s Beastcast is the last one, so, yeah.

I’d say it almost definitely was. Outside of Rykert who left for what is clearly his dream job, the people who left since Red Ventures announced their purchase are: Abby Russell, Ben Pack, Vinnie, Alex, and Brad. That leaves who? Jan Ochoa, Jeff Gertsmann, and presumably whoever is left at whatever CNET is becoming.
