It’s the restaurant, trying to make back the cut that doordash/grubhub charges them. There are some places here in NYC that do that, but they have to be very popular and very confident that people are willing to pay the massive extra fee.

No, but very few of your regular takeout chinese/mexican/diner takeout joints have liquor licenses, so this is kind of screwing them over a bit.

There is absolutely fraud being alleged here - grubhub has been setting up fake websites for restaurants that use them, AND printing fake telephone numbers for the restaurants, so even when a restaurant is getting a direct order, grubhub charges them a hefty fee.

And perhaps you are not in a city where grubhub/seamless…
