I’d argue that the Lao Gan Ma “spicy chili crisp” is not only superior to their black bean chili oil, but probably every other chili oil there is.

I don’t recall any pizza joint in Huntington ever getting an article written about their regular slice. https://www.huffpost.com/entry/cold-cheese-pizza_n_59a8558be4b0a8d145742088?guccounter=1&guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbS8&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAAKRIRm2moRpf6uDD8lv3m13ElnNN75dBE8u2UXXw3jG34M68mAZCHIZX-DK…
It’s just a regular slice of pizza that they then throw shredded mozzerella on from the same bin that they use on the pre-cooked pizza.
The actual and literal “other side of the tracks” that divides Huntington Village from Huntington Township is all you need to know about the segregation in Huntington.
Hailing from Huntington, LI (though I escaped 19 years ago and never went back), I can confirm that it is less racist than most of LI (which is VERY racist), but only slightly less so. We have the only Democratic representative on all of LI, but he’s very wishy washy. And I do not understand the allure of the “cold…
Maybe it’s because I live in a highly diverse neighborhood, but my local supermarket has whole aisles that are clearly meant for specific ethnicities that populate the neighborhood, and the “ethnic food” section is all British and Irish imports. The candy at the checkout is all Marinela and Milka.
He’s been making an average of a movie every other year since 2000, so I don’t know what movie jail he was in, but it must have been a short stint. I didn’t see his King Arthur (I presume it was horrible), but his Man from UNCLE was really quite fun.
While I don't invert the axes, I get why people do. Just imagine putting your thumb on the back of someone's head. Which way would you press your thumb to make them look in a given direction?
A++ Kinja with a HONK for effort.
I think they told some people about the joke and not others. See Lance Reddick vs. Lauren Conrad. The Lance Reddick bit is one of the best things I’ve ever seen on TV.
If your friends are getting married in vineyards in Spain and Portugal, I’d argue that your friend group is probably not the representative sample.
Most of my friends have gotten married in their 30s, and nearly all of them have done it on the mega cheap, usually having the ceremony in a public park, and then renting out a restaurant for dinner. It’s the people who get married in their 20s that use all of their friends and parents’ money up. Maybe it’s because…
Isn’t there a long history of Malcolm Gladwell being somewhat of a creep within the literati circles of NYC?
I went to Dorney Park this year for the first time! Actually not a bad place!
They had the Tarzan Swing open right up until about 3 years ago, when they re-opened as a “safe park.” I went with 2 friends, and 2 of us got bloody noses from the Tarzan Swing alone. It was gone the next year.
100% true. The advertisements were all over local tristate TV between like 85-95 (like WPIX). I went in the early 90s, after the more ridiculous rides were gone.
I think those were two different rides? The one with the handbrake is still there, but it runs on rails now. The concrete slide is, obviously, long gone.
I believe they said that annihilation was a direct influence, tho the movie, not the book, which seems odd, because the books (especially the second) are mainly about the bureaucracy of the weird.
I like both of the responses to my comment. I definitely wouldn’t say it’s abnormal in any way to enjoy that kinda programming (I mean, I don’t, but it’s like coming home from working in advertising and watching mad men or something, I don’t know). I am just interested in people’s reasons, and also why it’s so popular…
As a professional who works in this field, it blows my mind that true crime/serial tv shows about sexual assault have become so popular recently (SVU certainly helped kick off the trend). I’d love to read an article about people who love it and why. I think there’s a deep well of interesting stuff to learn there.
