All of which would be reasonable fears if he signed a 4 year deal. You’re original argument was he causing all this trouble on a one year deal.  He doesn’t have the time to do it.  The Sixers will make a trade to bring in either Kawhi or another shooter, but they were going to do that anyway.

Unless he demands to trade Embiid and/or Simmons, there isn’t much harm he could do in a year.  He might demand a shooter or Kawhi, which isn’t completely unreasonable, if Kawhi signs an extension or said shooter isn’t JR Smith.

The only somewhat reasonable solution, since both teams are 100% even, is to skip the wierd step and just flip a coin.  Besides counting yellows and reds, there is no other way.
