Lots of very inefficient power ironically.

Dredging up old threads but I can never find a decent old fasioned without being at a high end bar. There is maybe one place in my town that can make a halfway decent one. I sure as hell have a hard time making them at home.

Here in California we round up to the nearest dollar...

As someone living in southern california our gas prices are completely our own fault. Everywhere else in the country gas is at least $1 cheaper.

If you sit far enough back you avoid most of your face getting hit. I typically have my seat all the way back and nearly straight up and down. My recent accident I still wasn’t too far back but at least I had long sleeves on.

I just watch the flight attendants. As long as they are still passing out drinks the turbulance can’t be that bad.

Doesn’t counting use a different side of the brain that anxiety and frustration? Counting is supposed to focus your thoughts elsewhere or something. I have my kids count to five when they are having a fit and it calms them right down.

Yes, seatbelts are the better safety device, but seatbelts and airbags together are even better. They have the potential for being dangerous, but rarely are. You might have seen a single case where a lot of things lead to a sad ending, but if that was at all common it would really hinder how airbags are used.

Having had that wonderful experience twice now I can agree. If you are lucky you only get a scraped up face. I had broken glasses and a second degree burn up both arms from my first one.

Awesome. That Audi can supposedly do 0-60 in 2.5s. On gravel. In the 80s.

Many “touchless” places recycle their water which still ends up media blasting your car. Especially in places with strict conservation laws (like CA) these things are basically just as bad.

I don’t use a carwash on my cars but my wife has an unlimited membership for her van. Is the van covered in swirls? Of course, but it will hardly affect resale, especially considering what my kids spill inside of it. Better to have a bad wash than having it be really trashed.

Good year or Great year for Jalopnik.

I really should like this car but there is a person I cannot stand who ownes one and somehow I always associate the Veloster with that person. Totally unexplainable and since I happen to like BMWs and Audis it really doesn’t make much sense.

No, I yearned for it and never got it. Finally a friend got it and I had the chance to play it.

Where did you get your mileage figure for the Odyssey? In town its pretty bads (20 ish) but on long trips I average as high as the low 30's when the whole thing is completely loaded. It also has enough power to get out of its own way which is nice.

The Audi seems to be the new BMW lease. I used to see nothing but lease special 3 series and C class’ rolling around town and they all seem to be replaced by A4s these days. I wonder if everyone’s leases expired this year...

Ran to the comments to post this

Eh, its not the best story but after someone smashed my Prelude SH I picked up a cheap 89 Civic HB from the local junk yard. Put in a battery, drove it the shop I hung out at and 4 hours later it wouldn’t start and had no compression. Towed it to a “friends” house and had a LS/VTEC swap done with some “awesome”
