We had a choice between a boring policy wonk who wanted the job and an evil grifter who openly appealed to nationalism. The grifter won because a bunch of idealists weren’t “inspired” to vote. There is no thing as “too cynical” anymore.

Many adults will look back at their own lives and hope their children don’t have the same experiences. 

You need something off a high shelf? I'm good for that.  Need someone to keep a cool head in an emergency? Yep, can do.  I also am kind to people and stay organized well at work.  Beyond that, unless you're the actual young man I am raising, I doubt there's much anyone sees as special about me.  

I’m closing in on 46 years of being a white guy and I have to say, we’re not really that impressive as a whole.  You get the occasional Chris Evans or Norman Borlaug, but most of us are fairly meh.
