The key draw for the PS3 version, for many people at least, is the digital comic at the beginning that allows you to make all the decisions of Mass Effect 1 in just a few minutes. And with the release of ME2, I find it tedious to play through ME1 again if I want to make a new Shepard that the only difference is

Bleh, new firefight? I've honestly played firefight like once since the game launched, I don't think we need another map that nobody's going to play. This might be the first Halo map pack that I skip.

The best part about the Penny Arcade comic is that I actually did that once or twice after the switch! I still make an effort to use the new layout but ugh, its just not fun.

Me too, unfortunately.

Its really interesting to see how these classic games relied so much upon interesting and new level design to create an awesome game. I wish that same level of care was used in modern games, but that seems to be more and more rare nowadays.

Yeah. But Xbox is really kind of pushing the bar with experimental digital entertainment. There might be a couple failures before there's any real success, but once that success comes, Microsoft will be at the forefront of this new digital entertainment.

For me it all depends on the actual item. Halo 3 Legendary helmet? Dumb. Halo Reach Limited booklet? Cool.

I've never beaten Final Fantasy 3 (6), but I've gotten to the last dungeon. I always pretend to know all about Kuja and how terrible of a villain he was, but I never beat him.

@Archaotic: Ruby just seems so hard! I beat Emerald using the good ole Knights of the Round (raising those damn chocobos was hell, but it was totally worth it) but I never could beat Ruby.

As desirable as this system and all of its functions are, I think I'll wait until the first re-design like I did with the original PSP. Or maybe I'll finally have the patience to wait for one of those incredible bundles that inevitably come with a limited edition color.

@SeattleTed: There's that word again; "heavy". Why are things so heavy in the future? Is there a problem with the earth's gravitational pull?

@Damios: Skulls for Lord Santa!: I know! The original Dead Space was a great game and the demo of the second game was pretty incredible. Unfortunately there are other games that I'm budgeting for and this game will probably be forced to wait until later.

@GohanEgret: Hey, Microsoft has great first party support!

Normally I'm not suckered in by "extra" features like the gyroscopic camera movement, but when I saw it in a video, I had a little nerd excitement moment. I doubt it'll be used extensively in many games, but it actually looks. very cool.

@Platypus Man: And thats unfortunately the one point where I think ME2 is lacking. But again, this is just my personal preference for bosses. I prefer a more emotional victory like in the original against Saren as opposed to the bigger threat victory here. But, again, opinions.

@Platypus Man: But the difference is in Empire, Luke fought against Darth Vader, the onscreen villain we've hated since the first movie.

I'm Commander Shepard and this is my game of the Year on Kotaku.

@Nightshift Nurse: Yeah, I don't think this is too unreasonable. I have a PSP and I've bought some high quality games on that console for $40 and not felt robbed. Plus, if we get the same level of quality on 3DS titles as we've had on regular DS titles, I'm totally fine with the price.

@seepheart: I much prefer the whole washer/dryer method. Much less hairy.

@Alsandair: I came in here to post the exact same thing.
