I adore my French Press. Once I got one, I threw out my coffee maker forever. My bodum press is heavy with thick metal walls and keeps the coffee hot for a second cup (it was a pricy gift). I use 2 scoops of finely ground coffee, for a perfect 31oz pot. No calculation required.

Fancy beers come with a lot of rules. You have to use the right glass, pour it a certain way and serve it at the optimum drinking temperature. [...]

Really? Bc I love good beer (Southern Tier, Stone Brewery, Six Point, etc.) BUT never felt the need for special glasses or any temp other than straight out of my fridge.

There are SO MANY white tears being shed in that video interview I’m worried I’ll drown in white fragility.

Nose wires are a must for glasses-wearers AND help make a better fit around your nose and mouth.

I do this for faster baked sweet potatoes, too.

Sometimes I also crave curry chicken salad— mayo (of course, but could use greek yogurt), raisins, Penzy’s curry seasoning, slivered almonds, and chutney.

Everything But the Bagel seasoning is a must. I also love it in a tuna fish sandwich!

Yeah this is some serious BS. The protests going on right now are just as organized as those during the Civil Rights Movement (trust me— I study and teach about this). BLM and other related orgs have had clearly goals for years. AND they running trainings and workshops for movement leaders. Just like during the Civil

I used to clean houses and have seen other people’s gross kitchens.

I love my tuna one of 3 ways: (always Hellman’s mayo)

Same. My partner has it on her’s now, but I do not.

Jeez, I wonder how long it’ll take for this to go terribly, terribly wrong.

It would be awesome if Lifehacker did something on how to recognize fake N95 masks-- there’s a lot of those being sold right now.

Yes, exactly!

Is some fabric better than others for homemade masks? Like on Etsy some are advertising “antimicrobial” fabric. Is that possible?

College seniors (and grad students finishing their degrees) are also devastated about missing out on their last semester and commencement activities.

And PET FOOD! We ordered some extra cases of wet food and bags of cat litter to store in the basement in case we need it.

Eucerin Intensive Repair is AMAZING. Not greasy or oily, absorbs quickly, and creates a nice barrier that keeps you moisturized until at least the next vigorous hand-washing.

Really, there’s a job out there where every single email— Every. Single. Email.— must be replied to within 24 hours or you might get fired?

I don’t generally deal with teenagers (my students are adults) but I also try to remember that my job is not life or death. Emails can wait. Unless you’re working for the CDC

Why not just institute a simple “I will respond to email within 24 hours” line in my email signature? I have this for students (I’m a professor with 150 advisees) and colleagues, and it’s never been an issue. If a colleague needs me right away they’re more likely to text, which is better for me than clogging up my
