This doesn’t have to be a choice. You can deliberately decide to read more books without giving up social media— which some people benefit from in many ways (connections, family, friends, colleagues, news, information, etc.).

I read 2 books last year in total (fiction). I made it a goal to read 25 this year and I’ve

I don’t understand how to do laundry so that the white stay white. I don’t mean all white garments that can be bleached. I mean clothes that have white but also colors. I avoid buying them bc they look grungy so quickly.

I never learned to wear or walk in heels.

Same! My Mom barely wears it, I was never into it, so I never learned and never tried. I’m 42.

Subarus FTW!

I’ll just stand up and turn around and check. Or check if/when I go to the restroom. But I rarely bother putting my seat back. It’s just annoying AF when the person in front of me puts there’s back while I’m on my laptop trying to work.

Wow. None of these are remotely good. Maybe Sierra Nevada isn’t terrible. The last time I liked Corona I was 20. Now I know it has no taste.

Honestly, here in the Northeast/New England bar or grocery store with a blah selection of beer, at least Sam Adams is decent.

Or Guinness is always a safe bet.

Really? Media sociologist here and I disagree. It all depends on who you follow. I use twitter to get out of my little white liberal bubble and follow Black activists, immigrant activists, non-profits, community orgs, etc. I also follow other academics sharing teaching and research info. I learn a TON from the folks I

This is crap. Actually, I would argue this is right-wing propaganda crap.

Also check to see if the person behind you is using their laptop. It’s generally impossible to do so with the seat in front of you reclined.

But in general, I don’t bother reclining my seat. Like someone else said, the extra 2 inches of room isn’t worth being rude.

Here, here. Just reading this made me want to crack open a cold one.

OMG I did the same thing.

Actually, I really like Prime’s offerings. They have tons of British TV and a great selection of films— it’s better for older and rare films and shows than Netflix. For me, the $10/month (paying $119/year for Prime) is worth it just for the Prime Video.

I use the dry cleaning bag in the closet to collect all my dirty clothes.

Honestly this is how I clean the French Press I use daily, and my often-used mocha pot. I pour out the grounds, and rinse it in hot water.

My point was that there are lights you turn on and off with the switch often— like the bathroom light. It doesn’t make sense to make that a Hue bulb bc often it’ll end up turned OFF and then you can’t use your phone to turn it on again. Hue bulbs make the most sense in switches you are going to leave on all the time.

We LOVE our Hue bulbs. My partner who has lupus and arthritis especially appreciates being able to turn lights on and off without getting up, and dimming them so they’re comfortable for her eyes/mood. We have them in our living room, bedroom, and entryway. We have them linked up with Homekit on our iphones and can

I can attest to the fact this plant is impossible to kill. I’ve had one since ~2006. I watered it rarely, basically bringing it to the brink of death and then back to life againlike some kind of psycho killer on Criminal Mindsfor 8+ years.

Finally a green thumb friend of mine suggested I water it more, and spritz

Sociologist here. Most poor Americans right now are the “working poor.” They’re working 2-3 low paying jobs to be able to float along barely making it paycheck to paycheck. They don’t have the time to make lunch, nor the funds to pay for lunch. They’re probably not even eating lunch themselves during their long
