My Mom and I have been having our morning chats over coffee on AOL AIM for like 15 years. She’s still the only reason I use it.

What sucks about this is that there really isn’t a stand-alone replacement. Yes, I can use iMessage on my computer— but then if my Mom isn’t online (and I can’t see if she’s online), I’m

Best anti-rape gadget ever: HEY MEN DON’T RAPE WOMEN.

I adore tuna sandwiches, but Trader Joe’s Everything But the Bagel seasoning has TRANSFORMED them for me. Tuna is amazing with a few shakes of this stuff.

A laundry folding event? Doesn’t everyone just fold their clothes right out of the dryer into the basket? That way, there’s no ironing (just dressy stuff), and all you have to do is put ‘em away.

Professor here. Our school has Turnitin, but I don’t use it bc it has to be used through our lousy LMS BlackBoard. I HATE BlackBoard. I use Schoology.com instead. Another issue with Turnitin is that if students write drafts and submit revisions, those are flagged as plagiarized.

Usually I can catch plagiarism just by

If I’m really rushed in the morning (most mornings) to make a sandwich, I’ll throw just rolled up provolone, sliced turkey, and crackers into a container and call it lunch. Same thing, really, but adding fruit or nuts would make it even yummier and healthier!

Fear of dirty feet or socks. I can’t stand even walking around my own house (which I keep clean) barefoot or with socks bc I fear that the bottoms of my feet will look dirty and that’s SO GROSS.

This is probably why I hate flipflops bc I hate seeing other people’s dirty feet.

I’m the same way. I have to be able to see the bottom wherever I swim. I blame it on seeing Jaws WAY too young.

We haven’t had any issues here in the NYC area. Our very first box last year was missing the steak, and I called and they sent us our next week’s order for free. I haven’t burned anything, but I’m generally terrible at following directions— so I cook chicken longer than they say (bc I like to make sure it’s cooked),

Blue Apron is definitely better than HelloFresh and HomeChef. BlueApron uses better ingredients, has more flavor, and has me cooking stuff that is more outside my personal comfort zone (sauces, cooking methods, ingredients etc.).

I wouldn’t say that these meal services are for people who want “to pretend they’re good

I’m guilty of eating lunch at my desk, but I have my own office (I’m a professor), so I take a chance to close the door and watch something silly— like catching up on late night comedy, or watching reruns of The Office.

Ask Siri to tell you a bedtime story. She has a few different ones that are quite entertaining!

Ok. Stupid question: How does this wake up light work if you usually sleep in a room with the curtains opens so that it’s light as soon as the sun rises? I could see it working for a few months of the winter when it’s still dark-ish out when I wake up, but otherwise, this would be useless. I guess I’ll stick with my

Er, isn’t this just a French Press you put in the fridge?

Hendricks is good stuff. I’ve soaked some peppercorns in it before to bring out the pepperiness. Yummmmmmmy.

Best way to cook chicken EVER:

Replace the kitchen faucet! If it’s one of those standard, low-type cheap faucets, upgrading to a nice gooseneck faucet can make the kitchen a thousand times better (~$100) ! They’re usually easy to install yourself, and if you keep the original faucet, you can swap it back out before you move out!

I adore my Ogio. I’ve had it for 4 years and it still looks brand new. I get compliments on the color all the time, and people can always find me in a crowd with it on. I’m a professor so I need something comfortable and fun, but a little more unusual than the usual undergrad bag. Great pockets, nice lining, and

I miss Google Reader every day. Feedly works, but it’s just not the same.

And this isn’t just for women. Men have breast tissue and get breast cancer, too!
