I miss Google Reader terribly, but Feedly does alright.

This is missing an East Coast must have— Polar! They have the BEST flavors, and come out with seasonal flavors during summer, fall, and winter.

My Danskos. Original leather clogs. ~$125. Hands down, the best made shoes ever. They last forever, and if you get the nubuck leather ones, they only look better with age. They’re great with jeans or dress pants. I wear them doing volunteer construction work in urban neighborhoods, and to teach.

Seriously, I’m wearing

I can’t live without Flycut. It’s free, simple -- lives as little scissors in the menu bar.

Hellman’s or GO HOME.

We tried both Blue Apron and Home Chef this summer. I love cooking, but tend to cook the same one-pot meals during the school year. I decided to broaden our recipe palette over the summer. And we did. A few observations:

1. Blue Apron was our favorite. The recipes were all delicious (with the exception of only one

Anyone tried this yet on a LARGE Evernote library (2000+ notes)? I’ve been using Evernote since the early days, but recently the app has slowed down to be almost unusable for me. If I can’t search it quickly, it’s not any use to me at all.

I hate switching to a Microsoft product, but I’m intrigued by the more detailed

What is the deal with this crap about dressing up food? When I was a kid, I took my sandwich and chips to school in my little Ghostbusters lunchbox. No one decorated my sandwich. It wasn’t in a fun animal shape. I didn’t have a fruit kabab for dessert— I probably had a twinkie. I grew up just fine.

If someone has time

This is SO IMPORTANT. Very few people vote in local elections— usually 10-15% of eligible voters! And many policies that impact communities are decided by city and county-level elected officials. So everyone should know who they are and know what policies they support! Never been to a city council meeting? Go

Great! Now what they need is routing around schools at the times they start and end. I pass a couple elementary schools and a middle school on my way to work, and if I leave at the wrong time, I’ll sit in school traffic forever.

Oh and Waze warned me not to forget my baby in the car today. I don’t have a baby, but I

Driving while eating a slice of pizza is an art here in Jersey. I take much pride in my ability to navigate pizza and traffic at the same time!

Yup, that pretty much sums it up!

Quickchek also makes great sandwiches— better than Wawa, IMHO, but they’re also only in NJ/NY.

Jersey Mike’s is fantastic, and I didn’t realize they’re national. The #13 is the BEST.

I’m from Maine originally and I miss Amato’s sandwiches SO MUCH (Northern New England only). Their Italian sandwich is unlike any other,

Pro tip: Always dust and wipe surfaces BEFORE vacuuming. If you wait until after, you’ll be sad.

I can’t live without Flycut. It creates a dropdown list of all your copied bits of text to paste later on. If I use a computer without it, I forget it’s not there and lose clipped text all the time.

I have a prime account and my wife does not. I just did a comparison of prices on a bunch of stuff. My prices (with prime) are the SAME as the prices she sees (without prime).

Prime is a great deal. If you buy a lot from amazon and need it fast, it pays for itself in saved gas and car mileage!

Jeez, they’re usually moving slow enough after some time in the fridge not to worry about them attacking you or anything. I’ve never actually seen a lobster move very fast (out of water), and I’ve never had trouble sticking them right in a pot of boiling water, even after racing them in the yard for a few minutes

And please beware that combat veterans (with or without PTSD) can be quite traumatized by fireworks, either the big displays, or ones you set off in your backyard. If you know you have veterans in your area, please be respectful.

Cats and dogs are also easily freaked out by fireworks. You’d be better off staying home

In Northern NJ it’s really useful to know when a vehicle is stopped on the road ahead of you— often there is very little (if any) shoulder and knowing a car is there can prevent accidents.

I find fantastic patterns for my desktop at ColourLovers. Clicking on a pattern you like and then “browse similar patterns” brings up a bunch of different color schemes. And then you can download one in your resolution.
