Yes, a good friend of mine is an environmental engineer in NJ (NYC area) and according to her, both the NYC water system, and the Newark water system (that serves us) have fantastic quality. I drink from the tap.

Granted I'm not very well traveled in a foodie sense, but one of *the best meals I've ever had in my life* was at Lady & Sons. I was in Savannah for a conference, and ducked in for a meal before my flight home. Sat at the bar, had delicious cold local beer and killer food from the buffet. And then I slept like a baby

Well, everyone's tastebuds are a little different. I'm just not into fruity-sweetness, but I do like more of the nutty sweets (i.e. nutella).

fantastic image! I anticipate using it a lot!

GAH. I hate "research" like this that's so devoid of any consideration of SOCIAL CONTEXT. All it does is shore up ideas of gender inequality— boys will be boys, spread their seed, women are men's objects, yadda yadda yadda.

The same doesn't apply to animals. You would be considered a monster if you tried to "re-home" your kids because your new apartment won't take them,

But we wouldn't say people "own" children, would we?

Maine is *beautiful*. Drive up Route 1 and you'll have more scenic coastal views than you can keep up with!

This.

rose-scented cheese?

Thank you for saying CAT PEOPLE and not CAT OWNERS.

Yeah, cats are actually full of expression and personality!

I have a cat that fetches, only with a little sparkle ball. He'll wait for me to throw it, run and get it, and drop it right back into my hand.

Ah, but that reserved dourness definitely made for some damn good Pink Floyd albums!

I agree that kind of response requires a certain amount of thought but it also requires EMPATHY— and maybe a call to someone (an anti-racist activist, even a good publicist!) who can help her think through how to best respond. I see what you are saying here, but I think ordinary people, not to mention someone who have

Now playing

Actually, there is something she could have said that would have appeased me (an anti-racism activism and teacher). She could have said something like this:

That was only an apology for offending people, NOT for saying things that are horribly racist. She could have used this as an opportunity to address racism, and make a call for equality. But, nope. She's just saving face. And a VERY PINK face at that.

Want to get really discouraged about society? Go to her FB page and read the people defending her. Actually, don't. Sigh.

This is awesome, but I wonder where it pulls data from.

It would be my DREAM APP if it pulled events from Cal.app, to-dos for the day from Any.Do (although I love their "daily moment" feature), traffic info from Waze (as Google for traffic sucks here in NJ), and maybe the "10 Things to Know for Today" from AP.

Pit stain! It's like she's human!
