You should train sometime. Anytime the back is exposed is a risk. In hand to hand fighting, such a risk CAN pay off. With melee weaponry, the margin for error is FAR less.

I think you know next to nothing about Japanese swordsmanship, and even less about Western European swordsmanship. You might want to consider training in something for a few years before you try to speak with authority on it.
